Curtis "Bear" Hillard

My path ran through fine dining lines, resort kitchens, and years of managing the chaos behind the scenes — and it kept leading me back to the one room that matters most: your dining room.

I've cooked in fine dining kitchens moving at full speed, and resort kitchens feeding hundreds of guests a night. Somewhere in all of that, I noticed the moments I loved most weren't the busiest ones. They were the quiet check-ins at a table. The look on someone's face when a dish surprised them. The story behind why two people were celebrating in the first place.

Private dining let me chase that feeling on purpose. Instead of building one menu for a room full of strangers, I build one menu at a time, for one table at a time — shaped by who's coming, what they love, and what the night is actually for.

"I'm not trying to impress a table. I'm trying to understand it, and then cook for it."

That approach didn't happen by accident. It comes from years running kitchens, training cooks, and handling events where the smallest detail mattered as much as the food on the plate. Private dining is the same discipline — I've just aimed it at a much smaller, much more personal room.

A good private dinner isn't about being impressed. It's about being seen.

Today I bring that same care into homes and private venues across Greenville and Spartanburg — building dinners, celebrations, and events around the people actually sitting at the table, not the other way around.
